Pilot terms
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between Helix8 Ltd (company number NI658912, registered office 52 The Beeches, Larne, BT40 2DW, Northern Ireland; “we”) and the company taking part in the Jouleo pilot (“you”). They apply from the day we confirm your place in writing and someone authorised to act for your company accepts them. The pilot is for businesses only, not consumers.
1. The pilot
- We give your company access to Jouleo free of charge for the pilot period we agree with you in writing.
- There is no minimum term. Either side can end the pilot at any time with 14 days' written notice (email is fine).
- Before the pilot ends we'll offer a founding price. You don't have to accept it. If you do, separate paid terms will apply from then on.
- Jouleo is still being developed. Features may change during the pilot, and we'll tell you before removing anything you rely on.
- We aim to keep Jouleo available and to answer support requests within one working day, but during the free pilot we don't guarantee a level of service.
2. Your responsibilities
- Jouleo helps you keep MCS and consumer-code evidence in order. You remain responsible for your installations, your certification, the advice you give and the documents you issue.
- Designs, energy and savings figures, and anything produced by Jouleo's AI features are estimates or drafts for your own review before they reach a customer.
- Only invite people who work for or with your company, keep sign-in details secure, and tell us promptly if you think an account has been misused.
- Don't use Jouleo for anything unlawful, upload malicious files, try to get around its security, or access another company's data.
- You must have a lawful basis for the customer data you put into Jouleo and give your customers the privacy information the law requires.
3. Your data
- The data your company adds belongs to your company. We only use it to provide Jouleo to you, as set out in our data processing agreement, which forms part of these terms.
- You can export all your data at any time.
- When you leave, compliance records (documents, signatures and the audit trail) are kept, closed to everyone, until 6 years after your company's last record and then deleted. If you confirm in writing that you hold your own copy, we'll delete them sooner. Other data is deleted within 30 days of the pilot ending, unless you take up a paid plan.
4. Our software and your feedback
- We own Jouleo and everything in it apart from your data. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your business during the pilot.
- Feedback and suggestions you give us can be used to improve Jouleo without payment or credit. We won't name your company publicly without your permission.
5. Confidentiality
Each side keeps the other's non-public business information confidential and only uses it for the pilot. This doesn't cover information that is already public, was already known, or must be disclosed by law.
6. Suspension
We may suspend access, with notice where we reasonably can, if it's needed to protect Jouleo, other companies' data or the law, or if these terms are seriously broken. Your data is kept while access is suspended.
7. Liability
- Because the pilot is free, Jouleo is provided “as is”, and we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Neither side is liable for loss of profit, revenue or business, or for indirect or consequential loss.
- Otherwise, each side's total liability under these terms is limited to £1,000.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
8. General
- These terms, the data processing agreement and anything we agree in writing about your pilot are the whole agreement for the pilot.
- We may update these terms. We'll email you at least 14 days before a change takes effect, and you can end the pilot if you don't accept it.
- Neither side can transfer the agreement without the other's consent, except as part of selling the business.
- These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland deal with any dispute.
